Designing a Customer Loyalty Ecosystem for Trane Supply
Trane Supply had outgrown its existing contractor rewards program.
Their single-tier travel incentive had successfully encouraged participation over the years, but increasing enrollment meant more contractors were qualifying for expensive travel rewards, placing growing pressure on program profitability.
The challenge wasn't simply to redesign the rewards.
It was to redesign the customer experience in a way that continued motivating contractors while creating a more sustainable business model.
The question became:
How do we encourage long-term engagement without reducing excitement or perceived value?
On our team, every marketing strategy began with behavioral economics.
Instead of asking, "What marketing should we create?" we asked:
"What behavior are we trying to influence?"
People are motivated by visible progress, achievable goals, timely recognition, and clear feedback.
Rather than positioning the incentive program as a once-a-year reward, we reframed it as an ongoing experience where every interaction reinforced progress and every purchase moved participants closer to meaningful recognition.
Instead of promoting rewards, we designed motivation.
Working closely with the client and internal cross-functional teams, we helped develop a personalized, points-based incentive ecosystem that aligned participant motivation with measurable business objectives.
Each contractor received individualized purchase goals based on historical performance, creating goals that felt realistic while encouraging continued growth.
The program rewarded participants differently depending on where they were in their journey, ensuring high performers remained motivated while creating attainable milestones for everyone else.
Every communication was intentionally designed to answer one question:
"What should I do next?"
The program was never intended to live in a single email or on a single website.
Success depended on creating a connected brand experience that surrounded participants wherever they interacted with Trane Supply.
Every touchpoint worked together to reinforce participation, celebrate progress, and simplify the customer journey.
The branch environment became one of the most important engagement channels. We developed an integrated collection of launch materials that allowed every branch to become an extension of the campaign.
The digital experience reinforced the same narrative across every stage of participation.
Every decision throughout the campaign was grounded in one simple philosophy:
Reduce friction. Increase motivation. Reinforce progress.
Instead of asking participants to wait until the end of the year to experience success, we designed moments of recognition throughout the customer journey.
Make the next step obvious.
Give people a reason to act now.
Celebrate every milestone.
I built the Trane Supply TechRewards identity and the design system our team reused across every touchpoint — so each new piece stayed on-brand and moved faster.

TechRewards was built to live inside Trane Supply. The parent mark anchors every email header, branch kit, and in-store piece, so contractors always see the program as part of Trane Supply.

Bold condensed sans-serif headlines with italic accents, paired with a clean sans-serif for body copy — built to feel fast, modern, and rewarding.
As Creative Services Manager, I partnered with account teams, strategists, developers, marketers, and client stakeholders to translate business objectives into a fully integrated customer experience.
The redesigned loyalty ecosystem successfully aligned participant motivation with business performance while creating a more sustainable long-term rewards strategy.
People don't engage because they receive more marketing.
This project reinforced one of the most important lessons of my career:
They engage because they understand the journey.
When strategy, creativity, technology, and customer psychology work together, marketing becomes more than communication.
It becomes an experience that helps people succeed.
That philosophy continues to shape how I approach every brand challenge today.
